![]() ![]() Updated Jby Jacob Buchalter: With God of War Ragnarok getting delayed until 2022 and the enhancement update for God of War (2018) that gave more performance options for PS5 players, now seems like a good time to take another look back at all the icons of Greek and Norse mythology that Kratos has wiped from this realm. So, major characters like Morpheus from Chains of Olympus or Artemis sadly don't quite make the cut since they never appeared in the flesh at any point. That said, we're only including characters Kratos has fought or have actually appeared physically in the games. With Kratos now destined to play a part in Ragnarok, which is meant to be showcased in the following God of War games, you can bet many more Norse gods will be showing up as well. These gods were of different aspects as well all of them controlled some element key to the world, and their demises by God of War III meant that the Greek world was no longer active. Since Kratos is the main character, it’s obvious he’ll come out on top, but that doesn’t mean the gods he fought were weak by any means. Whenever you think of God of War, your mind goes to all the different ways Kratos has ended the lives of his victims – these include almost all the gods from Greece. He appears to be a paranoid tyrant, but Kratos and Atreus are grimly warned by Mimir that Odin is almost as clever as he thinks he is.RELATED: Things You Never Knew About God Of War’s Theme Song And Music We don't know what he looks like yet, but we do know that Odin seeks to control everyone and everything in the Nine Realms. Odin almost has as many names and titles as he has plots. The Allfather, the Raven God, the ruler of the Aesir and Vanir. His martial skill is unknown, but he is the Norse God of War so we can make some assumptions. At some point, Odin had Tyr imprisoned and allowed rumors that he was killed to spread. Tyr traveled all over the world collecting relics and treasures from different cultures and was widely beloved by anyone he met. The Norse God of War and another son of Odin, Tyr sought peace with the Giants and tried to help keep them safe against his family, especially his father. He seeks vengeance against Kratos and Atreus due to the death of his sons, Magni and Modi. It always hits his target and channels Thor's lightning. His hammer, Mjolnir, was crafted by the dwarves Sindri and Brok. He's singlehandedly responsible for almost wiping out the giants in the Nine Realms. He's also the chief enforcer of Asgard and one of the most dangerous beings in existence. You might know Thor as the Norse God of Thunder and a son of Odin. Odin once bound her with magic to be unable to harm another being, but that spell appears to have been removed. She's a skilled warrior who can turn into a great eagle and also possesses Vanir magic known as Seidr, which is vastly powerful but often has strange rules and drawbacks. ![]() While she was once incredibly kind to Kratos and Atreus, she now swears vengeance due to the death of her son Baldur. Freya is the Norse Goddess of Fertility, leader of the Valkyries, and the estranged wife of Odin.
